Swiss Data Space Forum 2026: Unlocking Data for AI

The 2026 Swiss Data Space Forum will take place on Wednesday 28 October 2026 at the Unlimitrust Campus in Prilly (near Lausanne).

Artificial Intelligence needs good data to thrive, but much of it is locked away in siloed structures. Data spaces offer a trustworthy framework to break down these barriers, enabling seamless access to data for AI training and a wide range of other applications.

The Swiss Data Space Forum 2026 brings together policymakers, researchers, industry leaders, and innovators to explore one of the defining challenges of the digital age: how to unlock data for artificial intelligence in a way that is secure, trustworthy and values-driven. As AI moves from experimentation to large-scale deployment, access to high-quality, interoperable data has become the critical enabler of innovation, competitiveness, and societal impact.

Under the topic of «Unlocking Data for AI», the forum highlights the role of data spaces as the backbone of a next-generation digital economy. Swiss and European data space initiatives demonstrate how decentralized data sharing, clear governance frameworks and trusted infrastructures can empower organizations to collaborate while maintaining sovereignty over their data. The event showcases real-world use cases across sectors while illustrating how shared data ecosystems accelerate AI development while respecting privacy, security, and ethical principles.

The 2026 edition places a strong focus on moving from vision to implementation. Through keynote addresses, breakout sessions and interactive workshops, participants will examine how standards and interoperability can lower barriers to data access for AI. Topics such as data stewardship, data literacy and the operationalization of ethical and legal frameworks are positioned as critical success factors for making data both usable and accountable.

Ultimately, the Swiss Data Space Forum 2026 serves as a collaborative platform to shape a future in which data is not merely collected, but responsibly unlocked—fueling trustworthy AI, fostering innovation, and strengthening Switzerland’s position as a leader in human-centric digital transformation
