Currently, a lot is happening in the field of data spaces in Switzerland. However, these efforts are often scattered and unrelated. Therefore, the Swiss Data Space Forum 2025 aims to achieve the following objectives:

  • Overview of the current situation of data spaces in Switzerland

  • Swiss best practices for the development of data spaces

  • Private sector perspectives

  • Cooperation between the confederation, cantons, and cities in establishing necessary standards for data spaces

  • Mutual understanding of which questions need to be addressed

  • Roadmap for next steps including political support for relevant initiatives

The Swiss Data Space Forum, organized by the Swiss Data Alliance and digitalswitzerland, aims to advance the understanding of dataspaces as a key element of a trustworthy digital infrastructure in Switzerland.

Founded in 2017, the Swiss Data Alliance is an independent think tank focusing on data policy and data re-use in Switzerland. It is financed through its members.
